[Food Review] Mochi Poochi

Who among you here loves mochi balls? Raise your hands up! ^_^ Me! I'm so in love with mochi balls. It is a staple topping in my yogurt cup. I have never imagined it to go with ice cream so well. Yup, the creative people behind Mochi Poochi concocted a very unique innovation. And it's not mochi ball topping on ice cream. But rather ice cream inside a mochi! Yum!

My Bubblegum Mochi Poochi in plastic packaging.
I recently visited their kiosk in Glorietta and I saw a lot of people on queue for it. I immediately fell in love with their mochi ice cream. ^_^ At first, I bought the mango flavored, aptly named as Mangosama. Yup, their ice cream names are Japanese inspired. So cute, right? ^_^ On my next visit, I tried the bubblegum flavor, simply named as Mochi Poochi. It was wrapped in plastic and you need to hold it in your hands for a few minutes until it is soft enough to be eaten.

And the flavor? Creamy ice cream and mochi (sorry I don't know what the white mochi is officially called) merge to give a fantastic blend of chewiness and sweetness. I just realized that it is fun to bite ice cream too. Hmmm... I'm not sure if it is okay for those who have sensitive teeth, though.

What's inside Mochi Poochi? ^_^

I suggest you try it too. Bestsellers include chocolate, pistachio, and red bean flavors. Go find out their cute names! Each cute mochi costs PhP50.

Mochi Poochi is located in Glorietta 4 every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
