Project Aral

My donated Project Aral kit. :)
School days are starting again. For this year, do something good by donating school supplies for kids who don't have a pencil or a notebook.

The last time that I went to National Bookstore to buy a book, I was asked by the cashier if I wanted to purchase a Project Aral kit. It includes a pencil, rubber eraser, and a notebook. All for just PhP25. It will be donated to Filipino school children who are in dire need of these.

At that moment, I remember during my high school days when we went to public schools in far Haciendas of Negros Occidental to teach Catholic Catechism. Life there was simple... and poor. I was shocked when I found out that some kids would walk for more than an hour everyday just to get to school; or if they get lucky, a delivery truck would pass by and they can hitch a ride. Some of them didn't have notebooks and used old newspapers to write on.

PhP25 is not much, so I decided to buy one so that there will one less kid who won't have to write notes on an old newspaper. And before it was put in a kraft box, I took a picture of it as a remembrance. I hope that whoever gets it will be happy.

I also invite you all to donate a Project Aral kit today and help Filipino kids with their education.
