Otaku Expo 2013 Day 2

The Otaku Expo 2013, which happened first on January 2013, has been continued last weekend (August 17-18, 2013). It was held in SM Megamall Megatrade Hall 3. I had the chance to drop by the event and take pictures of cosplayers.

I didn't cosplay for this event because I am preparing for next week. I was just your ordinary con goer/blogger gracing Otaku Expo 2013. It was so much fun to see the surprised reaction of people who didn't recognize me! So does this make me a master of disguise then? Wheee~~~

From left: Cosplayer Reeve and me (in human mode. LOL)
I roamed around the venue and found some nice swag! I bought three Assassin's Creed stickers and a Sakura Haruno printed bag tag. I also commissioned the artist Jade Ong to draw for me a chibi version of Rain! It's so cute! I can feel that this is the start of more Rain chibis in the future! LOL!

My Otaku Expo stuff.
While going around, I also took  pictures of cosplayers who still went despite the threat of wind and rainfall. It is hard to travel whenever it rains, and these people trekked through the storm bringing along costumes and makeup!

Cosplayer JL as Rilakkuma :)

Reeve Castillo as Roxas from Kingdom Hearts.

Cosplayer Ryuga Hououji

Cosplayer Ianah

Cosplayer Xtian Mack of arcadymac.com as Anbu from Naruto Shippuden

Cosplayer Myk Castillo as Green Arrow.

Cosplayer Arvin Clavo

Cosplayer Shaoron Tan as Naruto

Cosplayer Florenz Sumalinog

Cosplayer Raphaelle Veronica Ortega as Ezio of Assassin's Creed

Hunter X Hunter group cosplay

My favorite cosplayer of the day is Jerome Velarde as Hisoka of Hunter X Hunter. Though a villain, Hisoka is my favorite character from the anime series. Jerome portrayed him well! Look at the wig, the costume... everything from head to foot is accurate! Lastly, the pose and the eyes! That is how Hisoka does it!

Lots of cosplayers and con goers attended the event. So I can say that this Otaku Expo is a success. That just proves that nothing can stop otakus from celebrating the craft we all love, not even wind and rain.
