[Review] Yves Rocher Pure System Stop Blemish Lotion
The second product from the October BDJ Box that I will review is a moisturizer from Yves Rocher. It is from the Pure System range and is aptly called Stop Blemish Lotion 4 in 1. This is also the first time that I used a product from Yves Rocher. With that, I was very curious as to how it would react to my skin.
Here is the official statement as written in the BDJ Box card:
*YVES ROCHER PURE SYSTEM STOP BLEMISH LOTION, 4 IN 1, 15ML
Helps skin against blemish and residual marks with organic Aloe-Vera and anti-bacterial Salicylic Acid.
I assumed that this product is a facial moisturizer, even though it is officially termed as 'lotion' as per label. The content is a viscous light greenish-white cream. Everytime I use it, I smell the strong scent of fresh leaves that hints of aloe vera. No wonder, upon looking at the ingredients list, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice is fourth. This means that there is a significant chunk of aloe vera juice in the product.
In cosmetic formulations, the ingredients are listed in decreasing volume. So, whenever you read an ingredient list in any personal care product, the first one you see from the top left is the dominant one. For this Stop Blemish Lotion, the most abundant ingredient is water. It is then followed by Glycerin, Alcohol, and finally Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice.
I decided to use this out of the blue. What perfect timing too! I watched the Korean drama Faith last week. Having been addicted to the story, I didn't have enough sleep and my skin was in the perfect condition for breakouts!
Knowing my skin, a big zit would come up overnight from lack of sleep. However, thanks to this product, no major blemish came up. There were small zits popping up but it got dried it just a few hours from applying the product. My blackheads have diminished too. However, It didn't have any effect at all with my whiteheads. I guess that is tougher to beat. But over all, I can say that this product is effective in its claim of stopping blemishes.
As for the cons, this product did not offer me sebum control. Just a few hours after application, my face would start to get oily and I need to blot it out. Though it is that way, no new pimples or blemishes appeared.
Overall, I was satisfied at how effective the product was. There were no lingering negative after effects with my skin after I applied it. It is a good product to use if you have acne prone skin like me. To find out more, you can visit the Yves Rocher boutique in SM North The Block.
