[Review] Dove White Beauty Bar Soap
Dove has been one of my favorite brands. It never fails to leave my skin soft and moisturized after every bath. But as I look back, I realized that I have not yet written a review about this beloved soap. When Sample Room offered a free bar soap, I ordered one to experience Dove effects on my skin once more.
Dove cost me 5 Sample Room points, but it was worth it as they gave out a full size of 50 grams. Come to think of it, I made a right decision to include a body care product to my first Sample Room haul.
The simple smell of Dove Soap was great upon opening of the package. The product was of course a perfect white bar with a Dove logo engraved at the center. It was cute and I hesitated to use it. But I need to! (*sad*) Unlike most bar soaps, Dove has a different consistency. You would feel it is of softer solid than others. I held it longer and I could almost feel it slowly melting in my hands.
Not much bubbles form when Dove soap is used. I am just not used to soap not having enough foam. However, with that came an instant feel of moisture on my skin. It made me comfortable enough to stay longer in the shower, not ever wanting to rinse it off. I got melancholic as I watched the foam go down the drain. Little that I know that my encounter with Dove doesn't end there.
When I wiped to dry my skin, I felt it got softer and the smell of Dove soap was on it. Even after the shower, Dove continues to live up to its promise. I am happy to feel an improvement to my skin condition and the effect lasts for hours.
However, since this product is made up of 1/4 moisturizing milk, it melts easily. So make sure you put it in a place that is not humid. The size of 50 grams lasted for a week on me, but overall, it would still depend on the frequency of use.
One thing worth taking note, even if Dove does improve the moisture of the skin, it falls short of its cleansing power. As the official statement from Sample Room says, it is richly blended with its mildest cleansers. But if you are not the type to get really dirty with your work, then Dove soap will do.
In order to gain my points back, I left a short and simple review of Dove White Beauty Bar Soap in the Sample Room website:
The Dove soap range is definitely one of my beloved brands. It lives up to its claim of providing moisture to the skin. There are also scented variants of this soap bar in the market. Hmmm... maybe it's time for me to have another go with Dove.
